* Student Dress Code

Brown Upper Elementary School requires all students to follow a standardized dress code.

Shirts: Each grade has a designated shirt color to wear. Third grade students will wear gray. Fourth grade students will wear black. Fifth grade students will wear green. Students may wear grade specific color polos. Grade color T-shirts will be available to purchase through the school. Undershirts may be worn but must be in grade specific colors. A designated spirit shirt will be available for purchase to wear on field trips or spirit days.

Bottoms: Bottoms must be made of uniform type material. Students may not wear bottoms made of denim, stretchy material, or joggers. Slacks or shorts must have belt loops. Boys may wear khaki or black slacks or shorts. Girls may wear khaki or black skorts, jumpers, slacks, or shorts.  Skorts and shorts  may be no shorter than 2” above the knee. Solid black or gray leggings may be worn under skirts.  Logos, labels and brand names are NOT to be prominently displayed on clothing.

Belts: Belts must be worn at all times.

Shoes: Shoes are to be casual or dress shoes or low-topped athletic shoes. Shoes must have closed-toes and closed-heels.

Jackets: Solid-colored lightweight zip-up jackets may be worn on top of uniform shirts. Students may not wear hoods inside the buildings at anytime. No hoodies allowed!

5TH GRADE PARENTS AND STUDENTS‚Äč

NWJH Dress Code

SHIRTS: Uniform shirts will be standard uniform polo style shirts (short or long sleeve) that will stay tucked in all day in the following colors:

Solid Gray for 6th Grade

Solid Black for 7th Grade

Solid Purple for 8th Grade. 

Undershirts may or may not be a school color. Students may also wear any North Webster spirit shirt in their grade color any day of the week as a uniform shirt.  NWJH Cheerleaders are selling shirts that may be purchased in the appropriate grade level colors. Uniform polo shirts may have a logo if it is smaller than 1 ½ inches.

PANTS/SKIRTS/SHORTS: Khaki or black uniform style pants, skirts, or shorts that have belt loops and fit appropriately may be worn. All pants and shorts must be worn at the hipbone. Shorts and skirts must touch some part of the knee. Leggings or jeggings may not be worn as pants at any time. Students may earn the privilege of wearing jeans at certain times. Jeans cannot have any holes, rips, or frays that show skin in them. Students who abuse this privilege will not be allowed to wear jeans. 

BELTS: Students must wear a belt to school each day. 

NO hats or caps of any kind may be worn at school.

SHOES: Students must wear conservative shoes that have a closed toe and closed heel, preferably tennis shoes. NO house shoes, flip flops, or slides may be worn to school. 

JACKETS: Jackets that zip or button may be any color. No pull over hoodies may be worn. Pull over jackets must be grade level color. Only sweatshirts purchased at NWJH may be worn as uniform shirts. Order forms will be in registration packets.

BACKPACKS: All bags and backpacks must be clear or mesh. Purses cannot be larger than a standard size sheet of paper.

No body piercing other than ears. Boys cannot wear earrings. No designer or unnatural contact lenses. Nothing is allowed which causes a distraction.

FREE DRESS DAYS: Students may have the opportunity to earn free dress days. On these days, shirts must have sleeves, pants cannot have holes which show skin, no leggings or jeggings of any kind may be worn, and shoes must be closed toe and heel. No sweat pants, jogging pants, or gym shorts may be worn.  Pants must always have belt loops and be worn with a belt.

            1 pack of printer paper

            1 box Ziploc bags (quart or gallon)

Bottle of hand sanitizer

            Girls: 3 box of Kleenex & 1 paper towel roll

            Boys: Clorox Wipes & 2 box of Kleenex

 

These supplies go to your ELA teacher:

            2 composite notebooks

            1 pack of loose leaf paper

            1 box of colored pencils         

            1 box of markers

            3 pocket folders

            5 glue sticks

            1 box of #2 pencils

 

These supplies go to your Math teacher:

            2” 3 ring binder

5 glue sticks

            2 composite notebooks

            2 red pens

            1 pack of loose leaf paper

2 box of #2 pencils

            1 box of colored pencils

            2 yellow highlighters

 

These supplies go to your Social Studies teacher:

            1 pack of loose leaf paper
