After graduating from Springhill High School, I attended LA Tech. Then I completed my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education at SAU in Magnolia, AR.
In August, 1999, I began teaching 4th grade at Howell Elementary School in Webster Parish. When Howell Elementary was closed, I moved to Brown Upper Elementary School, and have taught 3rd grade ever since. This will be my 17th year to teach in Webster Parish.
I spent 17 years as a paraprofessional at Sheridan Elementary School in Arkansas tutoring second through fourth graders in Reading and Math. When my family returned to Louisiana in 1991, I returned to college and graduated from SAU with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1995. From 1995-1999, I taught fourth grade in Haynesville, LA..
My husband, Mike, and I live in Shongaloo, LA. We have three grown children, Tammy, Shelley, and Brandon, and four grandsons, Devin, Trey, Dade, and Ethan. We are anxiously waiting for the arrival of our first granddaughter this November. Of course, we have one very spoiled puppy named Aubbie.
When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My favorite hobbies are scrapbooking and sewing.
